Both humorous and heartfelt, TODAY I… is the Gen Z story of a young woman from the Bay grappling with self and sexual identity. At first, it’s the usual: Tinder dates, waitressing jobs, pap smears, yoga, astrology, STDs, parental support… But then TODAY I…well, (much like life does,) it hits different… Follow along with Gema; a feminist, badass daughter, and hopeless romantic, as she finds her queerness, confidence, and her path in life. Written and performed by Lonni Patey, with direction by Jenn Deon. Part of PerSIStence Theatre’s 2024-2025 season, supported by Arts NL, the City of St. John’s, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Government of Canada. “Through professional theatre and related initiatives, we respond to the persistent and universal need for promoting, understanding and embracing the core beliefs of feminism.”
