Event Notes
What is Solastalgia? The internet defines it as “a form of emotional or existential distress caused by environmental change,” but the way it was first described to Kristin was as "a homesickness for something that no longer exists." This is a play about something that no longer exists, including the world we remember. It’s about icebergs, and refugees, and babies, and gin. Raccoons, and poop, and neighbours. Garbage, and birth, and how we are all forced to “inhale each other’s exhaled atmospheres, whether we like it or not.” We know we haven’t been the only artists wondering throughout this pandemic: What’s the point? Why are we doing this? And why now? Solastalgia is our response to that. Our offering.
